Diabetes and exercise go hand in hand. Whether you are scaling the mountains, working out with a trainer of the gym, or taking long walks around your neighbourhood, making exercise a part of your daily routine can help you enjoy a healthier diabetes life.
Studies have shown that even moderate exercise can help a person lose weight and regulate their blood glucose levels. The exercise newbie should follow a fitness routine that pushes them just past their current level of exertion. Doing so will allow the body to acclimatize to this new, and slightly more strenous, daily workload, thus improving blood circulation, helping to stabilize blood sugars, and increasing metabolic rate. Regular exercise is important for anyone, but more important for people with diabetes.
Always consult with your doctor before doing any exercise program. You must also speak to your dietician to help you with the meal plan.
